MATTER SETTLED: Malaysian relieved Indonesian problem has been worked out
SAFEE Sali is glad his future is no longer a matter for speculation after the rival leagues in Indonesia were brought under the control of the governing body.
The All-Indonesia FA (PSSI) faced a June 15 deadline to bring the Indonesian Super League (ISL) into its fold or risk sanctions from international governing body Fifa.
PSSI and the breakaway Indonesian Football Rescue Committee reached an agreement on Thursday for the ISL to continue under PSSI.
Safee plays for ISL's Pelita Jaya and probably would have had to move had the matter not been resolved.
"I'm glad to hear an agreement has been reached to recognise ISL as a legitimate league. With the deadline fast approaching, I'm relieved both leagues are under the same umbrella.
"It also means I don't have to think about moving and can continue playing for Pelita," said Safee.
Safee, meanwhile, turns his attention to scoring his first international goal of 2012 after drawing blanks again in Malaysia's 2-2 draw with Singapore at the Jalan Besar Stadium on Tuesday.
After last scoring against India last November, the goals have dried up for Safee who also failed to find the net against Philippines (twice) and Sri Lanka.
But he is determined to get on the mark when Malaysia host Singapore in Shah Alam tomorrow.
"I had two chances in the first half and one in the second but I think I need to be more creative in front of goal.
"I do have ambitions of scoring for my country and it is important that I do so that I can reduce the burden on myself and my teammates," added Safee.
