Agent quiet on Nazmi's deal

NAZMI Faiz Mansor's agent Marco Guimaraes refused to reveal details of the planned negotiations with SC Beira-Mar as speculation continues that his move to the Portuguese Premier League side could be on the cards.

The 17-year-old impressed during his three-day trial at the club's base in Aveiro, which ended on Friday.

Nazmi, a member of last year's Indonesia Sea Games team, will join the national Under-22 squad in Budapest, Hungary today for a series of friendly matches.

"He did well here but at this point of time, I cannot reveal details of the negotiations.

"I hope everyone in Malaysia will be patient as we will send out a release of Nazmi's future soon," said Guimaraes when contacted by Timesport in Aveiro yesterday.

"Nazmi made a huge impact on the final day of trials, which impressed the club management. I have no further comment."

Nazmi is hoping to become the first Malaysian to play in a top division league in Europe.

He was spotted by the agent following his impressive performance with the national junior side in the final round of the Asian Zone Olympic Qualifiers and then at the Indonesia Sea Games.

The midfielder will form the core of the national team at next month's AFC Under-22 Championships in Myanmar where they have been drawn in Group G with the hosts, South Korea, Vietnam, Taiwan and the Philippines.
