Kelantan claim FA Cup crown

Kelantan enjoyed a massive boost ahead of their AFC Cup 2012 Round of 16 clash with Malaysian rivals Terengganu as the Red Warriors edged second division Sime Darby 1-0 to win the Malaysian FA Cup.

Mohamad Ghaddar, who has scored seven times so far as Kelantan finished top of AFC Cup Group H six points clear of second-placed Arema Indonesia, netted the only goal of Saturday's final at the Bukit Jalil Stadium when the Lebanon striker successfully converted a 57th minute penalty.

The triumph marked the first time Kelantan have lifted the Malaysian FA Cup having lost in the 2009 final to Selangor before coming up short again two years later when they were defeated 2-1 by Terengganu, who they will host in the one-off Round of 16 meeting on Wednesday.
