PRESIDEN FAM tidak melarang walaupun pada dasarnya tidak bersetuju dengan hasrat Tan Sri Annuar Musa, untuk menggunakan saluran alternatif bagi menghalusi kes penggantungan beliau. Baginda juga dikatakan tidak bersetuju dengan tawaran Tengku Abdullah untuk menjadi perantara kes berkenaan.
FA of Malaysia (FAM) president Sultan Ahmad Shah is not in favour of Tan Sri Annuar Musa, who is suspended from all football activities, using alternative avenues to appeal his 30-month suspension.
Annuar, who is also FAM deputy president, was suspended by the association's disciplinary committee on April 4 for violating FAM statutes when he criticised the national team.
But the punishment has not deterred Annuar from wanting to make an immediate return to local football.
The former Sports Minister had even accepted deputy president Tengku Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah's offer to mediate but the president was also not in favour.
Annuar, left with little choice, then contemplated taking his case to the Switzerland-based Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS) but the Kelantan FA president, at the launch of the "Dikir Warriors" album in Kota Baru on Tuesday, made it known he had decided against using that avenue.
He, however, hopes FAM will set up an Arbitral Tribunal to help solve all disputes between the national body and himself.
"He was punished in accordance with the FAM statute. As far as I am concerned, this matter is closed... he has been sentenced accordingly," said Sultan Ahmad after handing over a donation to members of the Seoul-bound national team for the Deaf football competition, in Subang yesterday.
On whether FAM would consider Annuar's proposal to set up a tribunal, its general-secretary Datuk Azzuddin Ahmad said: "It is for the executive committee (exco) to decide once Annuar writes in."
"We, however, must follow procedures as stipulated in our statute. If the exco rejects his appeal, he, by right, cannot bring up the case to CAS."
Despite being suspended from all football activities, it has not stopped Annuar from attending official football functions as Kafa president in Kota Baru.
"We are aware of it but we will not act until we get clarification from Fifa on Annuar's punishment. We have written in to Fifa," Azzuddin added.
