SUPER LEAGUE : Selangor vs Felda United

Mampukah Selangor memecah kebuntuan setelah kalah dua kali berturut-turut dan bakal bertemu dengan Felda United yang baru menewaskan Terengganu?

Selangor take on Felda United at the Shah Alam stadium on the back of two successive defeats. Can the Red Giants end their losing streak?

Irfan Bakti’s men have been nothing short of abysmal of late, they look a team without a game plan. Individual errors coupled with injuries have seen the Red Giants drop to seventh place after demoralizing defeats to Negeri Sembilan and Perak, both games they were touted to win.

Custodian G.Jeevanathan may return in goal after his blunders against Negeri gifted the Deers two vital goals. Mohd Nasriq however is set to keep his place in central defence as Asaruddin Putra is still fighting to recover from injury. He looks likely to partner Ramez Dyoub and try to shut up shop against the Felda forwards.

Selangor could also welcome back influential midfielder Safiq Rahim, who was missing in the defeat to Perak. His dictatorship and set-piece delivery was sorely missed as deputy Amri Yahya fail to conjure decent deal ball opportunities. Safiq could link up with Solihin Kanasian whose pace and trickery is too much to handle for defenders at times.

In-form Bosko Balaban will spearhead the attack alongside Amri Yahya, but the responsibility of getting the goals only rests on the shoulders of the pony-tailed Croatian, who has three goals to his name so far.

Felda United got a morale boosting win against Terengganu in midweek, so they will hope to capitalize on that form against Selangor. National striker Fakri Saarani should partner Azrul Ahmad upfront, the latter’s contribution could prove decisive as he has already struck three times this season.

Nizan Ayub will anchor the midfield for Felda, he has pace and an eye for goal that could cause problems for Selangor from set-pieces.

A draw seems likely on the cards, unless Selangor can find their winning momentum to gain three vital points which would be a real confidence booster at this stage of the season.
