SUPER LEAGUE : Peter Butler takes charge at Terengganu FA


The former Kelantan coach makes a swift return to the Malaysian Super League, signing a with the Turtles


Peter Butler, who parted ways with Kelantan FA after a protracted battle with upper-management, will be making a return to the East Coast of Malaysia.

The Englishman signed an 18-month contract with Terengganu FA, taking over the vacant coaching position left by Mat Zan Mat Aris who resigned after a series of poor results that did not sit well supporters.

Butler was most recently in charge at Persiba Balikpapan in the Indonesian Super League, with whom he had had a successful two-year stint from 2006 to 2008.

Sources have informed that Butler will not be on the sidelines when the 2011 Malaysia FA Cup holders host Sarawak on Tuesday night in the Malaysian Super League.

He is, however, expected to make a dramatic debut against his previous employers when Terengganu take on Kelantan in the AFC Cup Round of 16 on May 23, in Kota Bahru.

Terengganu were knocked out at the semi-final stage by Premier League side Sime Darby in the FA Cup. They currently sit in fourth place in the league table, one point behind Perak in third who take on Negeri Sembilan on Tuesday night.
